What are Neural Stem Cells?Neural stem cells are located in the adult central nervous system, which consists of the brain and spinal cord. A neural stem cell is an undifferentiated cell that can be used to generate the specialized cells of the central nervous system, and they are used to repair damaged brain and spinal cord cells. Neural stem cells are used in cases of stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury. The neural stem cell, when injected into a damaged area of the brain, can restore healthy functioning to that area.
